Talia Becker Calazans
President
Talia (she/her) is a junior studying Physics with a concentration in Chemical Principles in the Vagelos MLS program. She has plans to work in the field of Soft and Condensed Matter and applications of physics to biology and medicine. She is part of the Fencing Team at Penn and likes to spend her free time reading and cooking!

Linran Wei
Vice President
Linran Wei is a senior majoring in physics with a research focus on the intersection physics with computational neuroscience. She is currently receiving her master’s degree concurrently with her undergraduate work, and in her free time she enjoys running marathons, baking, and hanging with friends.

Ivy Liu
Ivy (she/her) is a sophomore whose studying physics, unsure of her concentration yet. She spent her summer doing research in biophysics and is unequally undecided about what she wants to do in the future. Besides spending a lot of her time doing homework she is a counselor for PennBENS. She enjoys watching anime and reading fiction books too!

Rosario Navarro
Rosario (C’25) currently serves as one of two social media chairs. She is a senior planning on studying physics with a concentration in astrophysics. When not studying for her classes, she can be found hanging out with her friends or participating in other groups on campus, including MEChA and QuestBridge.

Sophie (she/her) is a senior majoring in mathematics and physics with a concentration in Physical Theory and Experimental Technique. She currently does research in particle physics with Dr. Evelyn Thomson. She plans on pursuing topics like these in graduate school and beyond, where she hopes to become a professor! In her free time, she likes to discover new places around the city with friends.

Joy (she/her) is a senior studying Physics with a concentration in computer techniques, minoring in computational neuroscience and math. She has worked in astrophysics and computational neuroscience research and hopes to go into academia in the future. Outside of class, Joy is part of Sparks Dance Company, Penn Astronomical Student Association, and Penn Chorale, and loves doing anything creative!

Abby (she/her) is in the class of '25 concentrating in Computational Physics and minoring in Math and Computer Science. She's a Research Peer Advisor, President of the Mayor's Scholars Program, and a Writing Fellow with the Marks Family Writing Center. In her free time, she likes to crochet and play Dungeons & Dragons!

Sophie Xu (C’26) is proud to serve as the Finance Co-Officer of Women in Physics because she loves empowering women in STEM fields, such as quantitative finance. Some of her hobbies are singing (in any genres + languages), trying out new adrenaline sports, and exploring surreal natural landscapes and sites of cultural/historical significance.
